Video - Hippeastrum painting

I wasn’t even aware that Hippeastrum were growing in my garden until I noticed a bright red spot one day in spring after the rain. Unveiling its breathtaking beauty through an intensive brightness and shine the moment sunlight touches the surface of its petals, appearing like fire. Never had I seen this flower before and it mesmerised my senses. The ancient Greeks called this alluring flower Amaryllis, which means “splendor” or “sparkling”. Its flowers were large and shaped like bells almost to point that you believe to hear its ring in your ear.

It spectacles as an eternal song about love, with waterdrops forming tears of love. Like in the “Love Story” from the ancient poem of Virgil disclosing the love of the nymph Amaryllis for the gardener Alteo.
